On March 12, 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming the renowned and charismatic Slovak actor Ján Gallovič.
In an engaging and inspiring talk, he introduced the process of transforming a literary work from a written text into a stage performance. He discussed various aspects of an actor’s preparation for a role, ranging from linguistic and physical to mental and emotional readiness. He also highlighted how these acting skills and experiences can be applied in other professions, with particular emphasis on teaching.
The lecture was so captivating and thought-provoking that time passed almost unnoticed, and Mr Gallovič did not manage to cover everything he had originally planned. We therefore hope to welcome him again to our academic community in the near future.
The event was organised as part of the KEGA project No. 006UKF-4/2024 Developing young learners’ vocabulary and their social-emotional skills using picture books in English lessons.
