Literary colloquium: Charting the Future

On November 10-12, the Department of English and American Studies hosted the 18th annual literary colloquium. This year’s topic was Charting the Future: Identities, Narratives, and Creativity in Literature, Film, and the Arts.

The colloquium was held in a hybrid format and was attended by 19 guests from 5 countries: Slovakia, Algeria, India, Nepal, and Tunisia. A complete list of presenters and abstracts of the contributions can be found in the appendix.

KAA was represented at the colloquium by American lecturer Shelbey Rosengarten, doctoral student Laura Pantelić, and master’s student Yeva Kalashnyk.

In addition to academic presentations, two discussions with writers were also held as a part of the colloquium. On Tuesday, we talked with Zdenka Kollárová, author of the novel Vaky, and on Wednesday with Viliam Klimáček about his new novel Márnosť. These discussions were organized in cooperation with the Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication at the Faculty of Arts.

Recordings of selected lectures can be viewed on the KAA YouTube channel.
