we are happy that you have decided to study at our department. We believe that your studies will benefit you not only in terms of knowledge, but will also broaden your cultural and social horizons.<\/span><\/span> Each of you comes from a different geographic and familial environment, has developed own natural study and other habits and own perception of the world.<\/span><\/span> It is precisely because of this variety of opinions and habits that we decided to define certain criteria and rules of academic life at the department, which have to be followed not only for the sake of a successful and problem-free graduation, but also for the sake of improving the quality of the educational process.<\/span><\/span> The policies listed here are the common and standard “operational rules” at many foreign universities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The first basic requirement is attendance of the seminars\/courses offered by the department in the given semester.<\/span><\/span> Only 2 absences per semester are allowed, in exceptional cases (e.g., a longer hospital stay), it is necessary to consult the teacher about the possibility of substitute assignments for the missed lessons.<\/span><\/span> The use of mobile phones during classes for the purpose of sending messages, emails, or activity on social networks is prohibited.<\/span><\/span> It is also not permitted to make video or audio recordings during classes without the express permission of the teacher.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n If the course ends with an exam, it is necessary to be aware of several basic facts in this regard.<\/span><\/span> Registration for the exam is binding.<\/span><\/span> The student has the right to withdraw from an exam date one day before the scheduled date at the latest.<\/span><\/span> If a student chooses to withdraw from either written or oral part of an exam after it has started, if the student does not attend an exam they registered for without a prior excuse or if they seriously violate the rules for obtaining credits, the exam attempt is evaluated as FX.<\/span><\/span> For serious reasons, especially medical issues, the student can be excused after the exam, but at the latest within three working days of the scheduled exam date.<\/span><\/span> The examiner decides on the validity of the reasons for such excuse.<\/span><\/span> During the exam, a student is not allowed to communicate with other students in any way, nor to use supporting documents, mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices without the express permission of the teacher.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The studies also include writing seminar papers and essays, which should be the result of the student’s independent work.<\/span><\/span> If such a text contains parts, statements, paragraphs or sentences copied from other sources, for example from the Internet or professional literature, and in the case their source is not indicated appropriately (that is, the sections will be presented as <\/span><\/span>student’s own ideas), it is considered a serious violation of study ethics.<\/span><\/span> If similar phenomena occur in the final seminar paper, it may lead to expulsion from the course.<\/span><\/span> Seminar papers must be submitted in printed form.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
